If the past year and a half taught us anything, it’s that now more than ever the importance of healthcare workers cannot be understated. Tucson has an ever-growing medical community featuring an array of professions ranging from doctors and nurses to respiratory therapists and surgical technicians; all working in unison to provide the best possible care for our community. The demand for these professions has never been higher, and Tucson’s own Pima Medical Institute is responsible for producing a great number of new, highly skilled healthcare workers to answer the call.
PMI offers state-of-the-art facilities featuring everything from ventilators to life-size mannequins, capable of displaying a range of reactions at the drop of a hat for different clinical scenarios. A Peek Behind the Curtain: Respiratory Care Week
This week in particular is National Respiratory Care Week which seems fitting, as PMI’s respiratory therapy program is one of the crown jewels of the institution. The outstanding student outcomes Mr. Freedman alluded to are easily backed up by PMI’s staggering job placement percentage among those who complete the program. 80.7% of students are placed into a job in their field almost immediately upon graduation, and many are placed right here in Tucson and Oro Valley.No matter where you are in the world the medical community remains among the most essential of workers, and the medical field is witnessing an unprecedented rise in demand for strong, passionate employees.
